The Pediatric Neurosurgery fellowship is designed to provide an organized, supervised, full time educational experience in this subspecialty area. The International Pediatric Neurosurgery training program at Northwestern University’s McGaw Medical Center is acknowledged by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and the Residency Review Committee. It is a 1 to 2 year program based at Children’s Memorial Hospital.
The pediatric neurosurgery fellowship will provide the fellow with an organized comprehensive supervised full time educational experience in the care of pediatric neurosurgical cases, including the comprehensive management of patients with life threatening neurological illness, the performance of surgical procedures, and the integration of surgical therapies into the clinical management of pediatric patients.
Each faculty member demonstrates a strong interest in the education of fellows, sound clinical and teaching abilities, supports the goals and objectives of the program, and participates in scholarly activities. The program faculty includes 5 pediatric neurosurgeons (4 board-certified and 1 board-eligible). Applicants for the Pediatric Neurosurgery fellowship must have: 1. Senior Resident training or completion of approved-Neurosurgery program in their native country. 2. ECFMG Certificate 3. Eligible for Illinois Medical License 4.
