I am a Department of Preventive Medicine staff member by day and a professional artist by night ... and weekends and sometimes day ..... A graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, I am a member of the Open Door Gallery in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood. With my current works I have combined my love of drawing and my fascination with objects that exist as artifacts of our increasingly pluralistic and complex society. The process of producing these drawings has become a means of conducting an investigation and exploration of the cultural and personal resonance of the bits and pieces of everyday life that make up our material culture. This drawing is part of a series of coffee cups and mugs.
