Education

Fostering the training of future scientists.

Graduate Students

Graduate students enter the department through the following graduate programs:

Postdoctoral Fellows

Postdoctoral fellows are integral members of our research laboratories. Fellows from the department have continued to careers in research, teaching and policy. For more information regarding research and training opportunities, postdoctoral candidates should contact the individual faculty member of interest. Additional information about the resources available for postdoctoral scientists can be found via the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs.

Undergraduates

Northwestern University undergraduate students have the opportunity to conduct independent research in our laboratories for academic credit. Laboratories also have positions available for work-study students. Students from outside institutions perform research during the summer in department labs as part of the Summer Research Opportunity Program. Learn more via the Undergraduate Research at Northwestern University website.
