Bio
Patricia Garcia, MD is a Professor of Medical Education and Obstetrics and Gynecology (Maternal-Fetal Medicine). She is the former Associate Dean for Curriculum at the Feinberg School of Medicine and is an attending physician in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Northwestern Medicine. Dr. Garcia led curriculum renewal at FSM and implemented the new curriculum in 2012. Her educational focus is curriculum development, evidence-based teaching and learning to optimize student outcomes and technology-enhanced learning.

Bio
Khalilah Gates, MD, a Chicago native, is a pulmonary and critical care specialist at Northwestern Medicine and a member of the Asthma/COPD program. She received her bachelor of science at Spelman College in Atlanta. She completed her medical school, residency and chief residency training at Loyola Stritch School of Medicine. She went on to complete her Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at McGaw. Medical Center of Northwestern University. Gates has remained as faculty at Northwestern since completion of her training. Dr. Gates' clinical interests include pulmonary infections, COPD, asthma, and sepsis. Her research interests are UME critical care education as well as strategies for creating inclusive educational and clinical environments.
