Bedside Medicine Scholars Program
The Center for Bedside Medicine partners with the Society of Bedside Medicine (SBM) and the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation to offer the Bedside Medicine Scholars Program. SBM scholars join a community of talented clinician-educators and investigators who recognize the value of the bedside encounter in improving diagnostic accuracy and overall patient care.
The program selected two early-career physicians as scholars each year from 2021 to 2024. In 2025, the Center for Bedside Medicine provided additional funding to support a third bedside scholar from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
The program offers support for a one-year project at the scholars' home institution, promoting diagnostic excellence and reducing diagnostic error through funding, protected time and mentorship from the SBM.
