Clancy Jones Barry

Research Coordinator

Read Jones Barry's Bio

Clancy Barry joined Northwestern University in 2024 as a research coordinator for Carol Haywood, PhD. Barry works on projects aimed at improving disability access in healthcare. Barry holds a bachelor's degree in neuroscience, global health and Middle Eastern studies from Oberlin College. Her professional experience includes harm reduction, disability advocacy and work as an EMT. She loves spending time outdoors in her free time and has been enjoying all the live music in Chicago.

Owusu Bekoe

Owusu Bekoe is a senior program coordinator with the Illinois Perinatal Quality Collaborative at CHSOR. He holds a BA in Political Science and Sociology from Howard University and a professional certificate in Data Analysis and Visualization from Northwestern University. Since joining CHSOR in 2021, Owusu has contributed to the center’s administrative operations and communication strategy. Guided by the belief that local efforts drive global change, he is passionate about applying his skills to create meaningful impact in healthcare. Outside of work, Owusu enjoys exploring Chicago’s vibrant arts and music scene.

Catherine Cook joined CHSOR in 2026 as a Research Study Assistant for Andrew Naidech, MD, MSPH. She received her BA in Health Sciences from Rice University, where she contributed to research focused on environmental health and nutrition. At CHSOR, Catherine works on projects related to intracranial hemorrhage and machine learning. In her free time, she enjoys swimming, running, and baking.

Lynn Huang, MS joined CHSOR in 2022 as a Research Data Analyst. She has an MS in Statistics and collaborates with research teams across the center to support the analysis and data management of several R01 grants. During her time in CHSOR, Lynn has attended workshops on Causal Inference methods and cost-effectiveness. Some of her work has been accepted to conferences such as Academy Health and Academic Surgical Congress (ACS). In her free time, she enjoys working on creative art projects, trying new foods, and exploring the coffee shops around Chicago.

Jumana Khalifeh, PhD, is a Research Project Manager at Northwestern University's Center for Health Services and Outcomes Research (CHSOR), where she leads and supports trauma-focused research initiatives. She provides strategic project oversight and qualitative research expertise, fostering collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to advance impactful health services research. She joined Northwestern University in 2019 and has held research administration roles within both the Feinberg School of Medicine and the McCormick School of Engineering. Outside of work, she enjoys mentoring students, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family.

Deysi Paniagua-Perez joined Northwestern University in October 2021 as a Research Project Coordinator with the Northwestern Quality Improvement, Research & Education in Surgery (NQUIRES). She received her BS in Psychology from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Deysi is pursuing a Master’s in Data Science at Northwestern’s School of Professional Studies. Outside of work she enjoys cooking and working out.

Darci Phillips joined Northwestern University in March 2022 and currently serves as Senior Program Administrator, working on cardiovascular health studies. She holds an MPH from the University of San Francisco. Outside of work, Darci enjoys tennis and spending time outdoors, especially at the beach in the summer.

Liz Peterson joined Northwestern University in August 2023 as Research Project Manager of the Dementia Risk Prediction Project (DRPP), led by Dr. Norrina Allen. Liz holds an MPH in Epidemiology and a certificate in Clinical Research from the University of Minnesota. In addition to her consortium work with the DRPP, Liz serves as Student Program Manager at CHSOR, where she facilitates connections between faculty and student researchers. In her free time, Liz enjoys exploring the Chicago food scene with friends, attending yoga and Pilates classes, and pet sitting.

Rebecca Ainis joined Northwestern University in March 2025 as a Project Coordinator with the Illinois Perinatal Quality Collaborative (ILPQC). She received her BS in Psychology from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her MPH in Maternal and Child Health from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Rebecca spearheads ILPQC's Perinatal Mental Health initiative, working with birthing hospitals across Illinois to improve mental health outcomes for pregnant and postpartum people. In her free time, Rebecca enjoys swimming in Lake Michigan, rock climbing and exploring Chicago with friends!

Ileah Rios, MPH joined Northwestern University in 2023 as a Research Coordinator for Norrina Allen, PhD. She has an MPH in Epidemiology & Biostatistics from the University of California, Berkeley. She supported the merger of the Center for Epidemiology and Population Health and CHSOR. As a Program Coordinator at CHSOR, she supports communications, strategic initiatives and events.

Carolyn Schafer, MPH joined CHSOR as a Research Project Manager in December 2021 and started as the Center Administrator in April 2023. Carolyn is pursuing an MBA at Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management. Outside of work she enjoys working out and reading.

Ying Shan joined Northwestern University in 2017 as a Statistical Analyst with Northwestern Quality Improvement, Research & Education in Surgery. She works on surgical outcomes and trauma research, providing statistical support for studies using large national healthcare and clinical datasets. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, working out and spending time with her family.

John Slocum, MPH

Research Project Manager

John Slocum, MPH joined Northwestern University in May 2020 as a Project Coordinator. His work with trauma surgeon Dr. Anne Stey focuses on improving systems of care for severely injured patients and reducing community gun violence through Northwestern’s hospital-based violence intervention program. John is currently pursuing a DrPH in Health Policy at Johns Hopkins University. In his free time, he enjoys running, going to Cubs games, and spending time with his wife and two year old son.

Yaojie Wang, MS, joined Northwestern University in 2022 as a Statistical Analyst. He received his M.S. in Biostatistics from New York University. He works on the Young Hearts Study, the Dementia Risk Prediction Project (DRPP), and other collaborative research projects with clinicians and principal investigators. He is also an EDW power user with expertise in clinical data extraction and analysis.

Erin Wymore, MS joined CHSOR in 2019 and is a Senior Project Administrator with Northwestern Quality Improvement, Research & Education in Surgery. She manages large, multi-site federally funded health services research studies, including NIH-supported clinical trials and implementation science projects. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, playing volleyball, and spending time with family and friends.

Statistical Analyst

Tiannan (Tia) Zhan joined Northwestern University in December 2019. She received her BS in biology and mathematics from Bryn Mawr College and her MS in biostatistics from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Tia applies data science and various statistical methods to study surgical patient outcomes and physician well-being, as well as to improve clinical processes for trauma patients. She enjoys coding and data visualization. In her free time, Tia loves photography, spending time with family, and camping in the New England area.

Xueqing Zhou, MS joined Northwestern University in 2023 as CHSOR’s Research Data Analyst. She holds a BS in Statistics from Ohio State University and a MS in Biostatistics and Data Science from Weill Cornell Medicine. Xueqing collaborates with various principal investigators to support analytical work for grants. She enjoys spending time with her pet and exploring new experiences.
