Hybrid Format & Curriculum

A program designed with flexibility in mind.

Courses are offered in a hybrid format — combining online and in-person learning — to support students from a wide range of locations and professional backgrounds. Many of our students balance full-time clinical or research careers, and about one in five live outside Illinois. Explore the Master's Curriculum & Schedule page for this year's full on-campus schedule.

Regular Instruction + Independent Research

If you reside outside of Illinois, most coursework can be completed remotely, giving you the freedom to study where and when it fits your schedule. Each quarter, the full cohort comes together on campus for a dynamic week of in-person sessions — an opportunity to collaborate face-to-face with faculty and classmates, participate in workshops and build lasting professional connections.

We use a variety of innovative digital tools to enrich your learning experience. Faculty integrate videoconferencing, lecture-capture technology and interactive online platforms to ensure every student, whether on campus or across the country, stays fully engaged in the classroom experience.
