Neil Jordan, PhD, is a research assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences and the Institute for Healthcare Studies in the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.  He is also a research scientist in the Center for Management of Complex Chronic Care (CMC3) at the Hines VA Hospital.  Dr. Jordan completed his doctoral training in health services research and health economics at the University of Minnesota.  He also has a master’s degree in public policy and bachelor’s degree in economics, both from Carnegie Mellon University.

Health Economics Interests

Dr. Jordan’s health economics work is focused in 3 areas:  (1) evaluating the impact of health insurance coverage and policy decisions on health care costs and spending; (2) assessing the value of privatization, subcontracting, and other systems changes made by health and human services organizations; and (3) developing risk adjustment methods for mental health outcomes.  He also has experience designing and conducting economic evaluation alongside clinical trials.
