On Saturday, April 28, nearly 225 members of the Nathan Smith Davis Society at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine came together to mingle, celebrate, and be recognized for their commitment to the medical school. The reception took place at the Arts Club of Chicago and honored those who provide critical support for the growth, excellence, and competitiveness of the medical school. The Davis Society acknowledges and celebrates both monetary gifts and volunteer service to Feinberg.
Addressing the crowd, Alan Krensky, MD, shared: “This is one of our favorite events. It gives us the opportunity to thank you in person for your commitment to our medical school, for your generous philanthropy, and for your volunteerism.” Dr. Krensky serves as executive for Development at Northwestern Medicine and vice dean for Development and Alumni Relations at Feinberg.
"Your partnership is essential during We Will. The Campaign for Northwestern Medicine,” he continued. “In fact, we just recently surpassed the $1.75 billion mark in the campaign thanks to your high-impact support.”
In fiscal year 2017, Davis Society members supported over 300 different priorities across the medical school, including scholarships, research funds to support our scientists, the Global Health Initiative, and the Medical School Annual Fund. Volunteers, recognized through the Service Society, participated in Alumni Physicians of Feinberg and the Medical Alumni Association and Physical Therapy Alumni Association boards, and as medical school class representatives and Admissions Committee faculty interviewers.
At the event on April 28, members of the Feinberg Student Senate were in attendance to share their experiences as medical students, and to express their gratitude for support received from Davis Society Members.
“Each and every person in this room makes a difference in what we can accomplish as a top-tier academic health system,” said Dr. Krensky in closing. “Thank you.”
