Wound Foreign Body


Clinical Pearl

     

    Wound Foreign Bodies that are non radio-opaque will not typically be visible on plain films. WFBs such as wood, plastic, clothing and vegetative matter can be detected by ultrasound however. Look diligently for these types of foreign bodies if suspected.
