Scapula Fracture

History and Physical Exam

Most fractures of the body and neck of the scapula occur from high-energy trauma, although patients with low bone density may present with less severe mechanisms of injury.

Physical exam reveals pain with shoulder range of motion and tenderness to palpation.  Physical exam should be complete to assess for associated lung, chest wall, and neurovascular injuries.
