Alison Foster earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Arizona, with a minor in chemistry. During medical school at University of Arizona, Ali was appointed as a Delegate to the Medical Student Section of the American Medical Association. She served as coordinator of a women’s clinic that provides health care to women and children in domestic violence shelters, as well as of a health education program for homeless teens in local shelters. Ali produced an educational documentary exploring the lives of chronically ill patients and spent time volunteering at a student-run free clinic serving local refugees. She has participated in several research projects, including an investigation of the effects of obesity on complications in cesarean deliveries. Ali completed an internship in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Arizona prior to starting her training in emergency medicine at Northwestern. She enjoys international travel, wine tasting, kick boxing, hiking, and spending time with her two dogs.
