Nick Hartman completed a combined MD/MPH program at the University of Virginia with an emphasis in Health Evaluation Sciences. He has participated in a number of research projects in the areas of hospital disaster preparedness, resource allocation to mass gathering events, and cardiac resuscitation. Nick is the first author on publications with the American Journal of Emergency Medicine, Toxicology Recall, and the Yearbook of Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine. He has volunteered his time as an EMT-B, a Sunday School teacher, and a statewide leader for the Boy Scouts of America. He earned numerous academic awards during his time at UVA and graduated with High Distinction in the Distinguished Majors Program in History. Between college and medical school, Nick worked as a high school science teacher.
