Mary McHugh, MD

Mary McHugh was named to the Dean’s List at Duke University nearly every semester. During college, Mary was a research assistant on several studies and presented her work at the 2003 meeting of the American Pain Society. She spent one year as a member of a Jesuit volunteer program in Washington, DC, where she coordinated the Youth Advocate and Sight school program. Mary was selected as a Robert W. Woodruff Fellow in Medicine on acceptance to Emory University School of Medicine, for which she received a full-tuition scholarship for academic excellence. While at Emory, she joined a research consortium studying pediatric obesity at Children’s Memorial Hospital of Chicago, and also authored a publication in the Journal of the American Geriatric Society. Mary was an active member of the Emory Medical School Honor Council, the AAMC Organization of Student Representatives, and the Emergency Medicine Interest Group.
