Anne Chung completed a double major in Psychology and Molecular & Cell Biology at the University of Arizona before matriculating to the dual M.D./M.P.H. program in the School of Medicine. She participated in the Hartford/AFAR Medical Student Research Program at the University of California Los Angeles, the Summer Institute in Geriatrics at Boston University School of Medicine, and the Student Research Program of the Arizona Center on Aging. She has since completed a Certificate in Gerontology. Anne conducted cardiology research through a Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, resulting in three publications and seven poster presentations. She was the first author on a 2006 article in Circulation. In addition to broad research training, Anne has held several leadership positions in volunteer and community organizations. Notably, she was a national officer in the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association.
