Cynthia Galvan was a NIH student summer research awardee. Her research included studying human factors in patient safety during pediatric cardiac surgery. She later wrote an American Heart Association grant that funded her research for four years. She has presented her work at seven different conferences and is the first author on a publication in Progress in Pediatric Cardiology. During medical school, she served as the AMA Chapter President and she held multiple leadership positions during medical school and undergrad. While at Princeton, Cynthia was an Executive Board Member, EMT, BLS Instructor/Trainer with the Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad. She was also a member of the Princeton Women’s Rugby Football Club for four years, including their National Championship squad in 1996 and the IVY League Champions in 1998. She is currently a member of the Chicago Women's Rugby Football Club.
