northwestern SWEEPS REGIONAL RESEARCH COMPETITIONS 

Congratulations to PGY4 residents Matthew Lazio and Jon Van Roo, and their faculty advisor Sanjeev Malik, for being awarded first place at the 2009 ICEP Academic Forum. This award goes to the best resident presentation and we are very proud of their work, "Predicitive factors of successful summiting on Aconcagua."

The Northwestern Department of Emergency Medicine is also proud of the high quality work the Department presented at the SAEM Midwest Regional Meeting in Ann Arbor, MI.

Special congratulations to Emilie Powell, MD, MBA (alumni '09) and Brian Patterson, MD, MPH (PGY1) who tied for first place in the resident/fellow category, and Rahul Khare who won best faculty presentation.

Also, congratulations and thanks to Mike Gisondi, MD, Amer Aldeen, MD, Jim Kyriacou, MD, PhD, MPH, Sara Friedman, MD, Andy Foster, MD, Chris Richards, MD, and senior Northwestern University undergraduate Elizabeth Brezinski for attending and presenting their collaborative work.
