Social network influence in public health and how to map it

Network Canvas, a new free, open-source software, maps and analyzes people’s social networks in public health studies, allowing researchers to design protocols, collect visual data. Network Canvas is used to explore how interpersonal connections help drive health outcomes and to design interventions that use the social network structure to promote healthier behaviors.

SILOS Project Uses Simulation Models to Understand Structural Drivers of HIV and Substance Use

The National Institutes of Health recently funded the five-year, $3.8 million SILOS project, which will conduct innovative observational research in five cities across the United States to better understand the social contexts that drive HIV and substance use. Read the news story.
