| The Teaching Selective is a separate requirement in the M4 year, affiliated with PPS4, offering you the opportunity to practice teaching skills under the guidance of a faculty member (See Teaching Opportunities for 2006-07sites). The time commitment for the Teaching Selective requirement is 4 sessions, which should total a minimum of 8 hours. Continuity is important for good teaching and instructive evaluation; we require that you teach with the same faculty member for the entire requirement. The unit directors and faculty in each teaching activity will instruct and orient you to the goals of their curriculum and provide you with feedback; they will also offer instruction and evaluation of your teaching skills.
