Northwestern’s Chicago campus is located in one of the most active and readily accessible parts of Chicago—but also one of the busiest. Since parking is at a premium, students should consider using commuter transportation. The Regional Transit Authority (RTA) operates bus and train stops (CTA) and train stations (Metra) close to the Chicago campus. A shuttle service operates between the Chicago campus and Children’s Memorial Hospital, Westside VA, and Evanston Hospital.
- Children's Memorial (McGaw Shuttle)
A ticket is required for shuttle service to Children’s Memorial Hospital (the McGaw shuttle route). Feinberg medical students can obtain these tickets free of charge from the Office of Student Programs and Professional Development (Morton 1-673). Visiting students can purchase these tickets from University Services (Abbott Hall, room 100).
- Westside VA (VA shuttle)Students must show a VA ID badge to take the complimentary shuttle to the Westside VA. These badges can be obtained at the Westside VA police station (first floor by the elevators). The VA shuttle runs every half hour from 6 a.m.–8 p.m weekdays, and from 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on weekends.
- Evanston Hospital Shuttle (Intercampus Shuttle)
Students can board the Evanston shuttle by presenting their WildCARD. This serve is free for all students, staff and faculty of Northwestern University.
