Written examination: Students take a multiple-choice exam at the end of the clerkship. Test questions come from material covered in core lectures, assigned readings, small group PBL sessions and patient simulator sessions. Simulator laboratory examination: Students are evaluated on their performance during a 15-minute case simulation on the final day of the clerkship. PBL/simulator sessions: Students are evaluated on their preparedness and participation in PBL/simulator sessions. Clinical evaluation: The attending intensivist (and housestaff) should provide regular and timely verbal feedback to students during clinical rotation.
