Founders' Day - Offical Kick-Off of the Academic Year
Founders' Day marks the official opening of the academic year, celebrates the illustrious founders of the medical school, and recognizes a rich history of more than 150 years of medical education. The formal ceremony features a welcome from the dean, a keynote address, and an awards presentation to outstanding faculty from the previous academic year. The ceremony concludes with the M1 class being presented their white coats as a group from the M2 class, and their first recitation of the Declaration of Geneva. A reception, sponsored by the Augusta Webster, MD, Office of Medical Education and the Office of Alumni Relations, follows the ceremony. Seats are limited and tickets are required for all guests. The date for the 2012 Founders' Day ceremony will be posted when it is determined. Founders’ Day Ceremony Program
