All graduating students who borrowed student loans while attending Feinberg School of Medicine are required to attend two separate student loan meetings. The first meeting is a one on one session. The second meeting is a group session. Both meetings are graduation requirements. The one on one meeting will be held with Cynthia Gonzalez, Assistant Director of FSM Financial Aid. This meeting will provide the opportunity to review the specific details of your student loan file. Sample repayment schedules based on your actual loan debt will be provided. You will also receive a timeline of when loan repayment will begin based on your student loan portfolio. To prepare for this meeting please bring your student loan history with you. The one on one meeting will typically take one hour. Cynthia’s office is located in AWOME, Ward 1-003.
You are encouraged to complete this obligation by March 30, 2012. The group meeting is federally mandated. We have invited Nicole Knight, Senior Education Debt Management Specialist from the AAMC to present. Her presentation is designed specifically to address the needs of medical school students.
