Description: The JRCOSTEP Program allows students to gain valuable professional experience with the Public Health Service early in their education. Students serve in assignments throughout the country during their official school breaks for periods from 31 to 120 days mostly during the summer months. The participant may serve an extended active-duty assignment upon completion of his/her professional education at a designated Agency/Operating Division Program. Eligibility: Open to full-time, enrolled students who have completed 1 year of medical school (see website for details). Award Amount: Varies, depends on rank, status and geographic location.
