Letter of Support for Research Fellowship, Scholarship and Award Programs

For most research fellowships, scholarships and award programs, students are required to include a Dean’s Letter of Support/Recommendation in their application packet.

A minimum of fifteen business days is needed to complete the letter of support/recommendation. In order to request a Dean’s Letter of Support/Recommendation, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Complete and submit Student Letter of Support/Recommendation Request Form

  2. Submit the following supplemental information via e-mail, mail or hand-deliver to Linda Daniels in the Office of Student Programs at 303 E. Chicago Ave., Morton 1-673

  • Curriculum Vitae

  • Personal Statement (if applicable)

  • Copy of the application for which the letter of support is needed

  • Copy of the program's applicant criteria

Upon receipt of your submitted letter of support/recommendation request form, Linda Daniels will notify the student if any additional information is needed.
When the Recommendation Letter is complete, the student will be notified. Letters of Support/Recommendation will be completed within three weeks of request. If there are any changes in the deadline, and/or application process that may affect the preparation of the letter, please notify Linda Daniels.
