First-Year Resident Surgical Curriculum

The first-year resident surgical training program is a comprehensive curriculum consisting of five small group sessions, two wet-lab microsurgical sessions (with individual surgical mentors), and surgical simulation training using the EYESI surgical simulator. Additionally, first-year residents join their second and third-year counterparts for an oculoplastics cadaver lab. Facilitated by Carol Schmidt, MD, the PGY -2 curriculum incorporates the following surgical training goals:
