Clerkship
The Department of Emergency Medicine plays a role in the education of Feinberg medical students throughout their program. The faculty and staff of Feinberg’s Department of Emergency Medicine have a strong commitment to undergraduate medical education beginning in the pre-clinical years. Several members of the emergency medicine faculty instruct medical school curriculum, including: Problem-Based Learning (PBL); Medical Decision Making (MDM); Introduction to Clinical Clerkships (ICC); and Patient, Physician, and Society (PPS).

Visiting Student
The Department of Emergency Medicine offers a four-week visiting elective for fourth-year students attending other medical schools.
Prerequisites for the visiting elective:
- Senior student status
- Completion of junior core clerkships in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, and Obstetrics and Gynecology
- One letter of recommendation from an emergency medicine adviser or senior faculty who has supervised the student in a clinical setting
Students who meet Feinberg’s general application criteria for the visiting student elective program may be considered for the emergency medicine elective. We consider visiting applicants on a "first come, first served, space available" basis.
