The Land of Can

Created by JJ Vulopas, a college senior living with life-threatening food allergies, the Land of Can is a blog to “1.) create an authentic resource for parents of children with food allergies and 2.) to strengthen the emotional well-being of young people by empowering them to define themselves by who they are and who they can be, instead of by who they’re not!”

National Institutes of Health

NIAID is the lead Institute at the National Institutes of Health conducting research on food allergy, a condition that affects approximately 5 percent of children and 4 percent of adults in the United States. In a person with food allergy, the immune system reacts abnormally to a component of a food—sometimes producing a life-threatening response.
