Tuition & Financial Aid

Per The Graduate School part-time rate, the tuition for 2018-2019 is $6,418 per credit.

  • Master of Science in Health Quality and Patient Safety: 9 courses
  • Faculty Development Program: 5 courses
  • Certificate Program: 5 courses

Northwestern affiliates eligible for special reduced tuition:


We offer scholarship opportunities that will provide 50 percent of the tuition costs for the first year of the master's program. Scholarships are renewable for the second year of study contingent upon good academic standing. The program scholarship is not valid with other special offerings. 

To apply, submit a 250-word statement explaining why you should receive a scholarship to Include your full name and your CollegeNET applicant ID on this statement. The scholarship application is due by the application deadline.

NAHQ Partnership

Tuition Discount & CPHQ Credit

National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) members will receive a 25% tuition discount for credits toward the Master's Program only, for a maximum of eight qualified students per fiscal year. Applicants must submit proof of NAHQ membership in their CollegeNET application as a supplemental document.

NAHQ members who have earned CPHQ certification prior to matriculation at Northwestern receive one transferrable, graduate-level credit at Northwestern (awarded as HQS 499: Independent Study).

Graduates and current students of the Master's Program can receive a one-time discount of 50% off NAHQ membership dues. Please contact the program for more information.
