Amanda M Saratsis, MD
Assistant Professor, Neurological Surgery; Feinberg School of Medicine
As a pediatric neurosurgeon in the surgeon-scientist tract at Northwestern University, I have fellowship training in the clinical care of children with brain tumors and laboratory research experience integrating genomics data to elucidate the molecular biology of pediatric brain tumors. My career goal is to develop surgical and molecular biology techniques for tumor subtyping and targeted, surgical-based therapy to improve clinical outcomes for children with brain tumors. My background in molecular biology, clinical neurosurgery practice and pediatric brain tumor research experience facilitates the translational research model, making me well-suited to implement my surgical and scientific skills and ultimately achieve this goal.
