- Categorical track (NRMP #2247040C0)
13 positions available- A four-year program which includes a preliminary medicine year (11 months of medicine and one month of anesthesiology)
- Advanced track (NRMP #2247040A0)
8 positions available- A three-year specialty program where the applicant would need to secure a first-year position at another residency program
Applicants seeking a PGY-1 Categorical position for the 2017-2018 year or a CA-1 Advanced position for the 2018-2019 year will need to apply through ERAS. All 21 positions are filled through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
When selecting an applicant for an interview, the Resident Recruitment Committee will evaluate the following application components:
- Strong letters of recommendation (at least three) from various specialties
- Third-year Core Clerkship grades
- The dean's letter (Medical Student Performance Evaluation)
- Personal statement
- USMLE scores (Based on the 2017 Match results, students scored, on average, 239 on Step 1 and 248 on Step 2)
Applicants are selected to interview based on their USMLE Step 1 score only, and they are not required to take Step 2 or Clinical Skills Assessment before their interview. However, applicants are required to pass Steps 1 and 2 before starting their residency training. Osteopathic applicants must also take the USMLE.
The program will review applications after October 1, so interview inviations will be sent after that date. Selected applicants will receive an email invitation from Thalamus. Interviews occur on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from October through January.
