A Look at How Insulin Regulates Metabolism

Morris Birnbaum, MD, PhD, Willard and Rhoda Ware Professor of Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases at the University of Pennsylvania, presents “Regulation of Hepatic Metabolism” as part of the Lectures in Life Sciences series at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, in the Hughes Auditorium at the Robert H. Lurie Medical Research Center. Dr. Birnbaum’s lab investigates the signal transduction pathways that govern cardiac growth, the pathways that control cardiac metabolism and the regulation of lipid metabolism and how this becomes disrupted in insulin-resistant states.
