The 161 members of the Class of 2013 celebrated commencement with friends, family, and faculty at Chicago's Navy Pier Grand Ballroom on May 23.

Gail Jarvik, MD, PhD, Arno G. Motulsky Endowed Chair in Medicine, joint professor of medicine and genome sciences, and head of the Division of Medical Genetics at the University of Washington, will present "Genome Sequencing: Discovery and Clinical Applications" as part of the Lectures in Life Sciences series at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4 in the Hughes Auditorium at the Robert H. Lurie Medical Research Center of Northwestern University. Jarvik practices collaborative theoretical and applied work in the genetic etiology of cardiovascular disease, dementia and intellectual function, and cancer. She also investigates the implementation of genomics in clinical care.
