Mark Einbecker, MD'85, flew to California to be by the side of his sister Jeannie, who had suffered a traumatic brain injury. He was amazed to discover that Jeannie's neurosurgeon was a fellow graduate, Edie Zusman, MD'87. Einbecker credits Zusman with his sister's dramatic recovery.

 Construction on an expanded, two-level Walgreens is starting in Northwestern Memorial's Galter Pavilion as part of Shop & Dine Northwestern. The retail program is bringing new shops and restaurants to the downtown medical campus. Pulse gift shop has relocated to the second floor of Galter and three new restaurants have been announced for a dining corridor on the second floors of Feinberg and Galter.   Read more >

Andrea Dunaif, MD, Charles F. Kettering Professor of Endocrinology and Metabolism, has been named the 2013 Distinguished Women in Medicine and Science honoree. Bestowed annually by the Women Faculty Organization (WFO), the award is an annual medical school tradition started in memory of Carolyn Brent, MD, founder of the WFO. Dunaif has dedicated her career to elevating the world's understanding of polycystic ovary syndrome, one of the most common disorders of reproductive-age women. She is the director of the Northwestern University Specialized Center for Research on Sex Differences and the National Institutes of Health-supported Building Interdisciplinary Careers in Women's Health program.
