Feinberg Only Illinois Medical School to Publicly Disclose Faculty's Industry Ties

In line with its commitment to transparency in medicine and research, and for the fourth consecutive year, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine has updated its online faculty profiles to include the most current information regarding faculty members' professional and industry relationships as disclosed in the 2012 Joint Annual Disclosure Survey of External Professional Relationships. Feinberg is the only medical school in Illinois and among a small number of organizations nationwide that provide this type of information to the public. The medical school began publicly disclosing external professional relationships in 2009 amidst wide public and political scrutiny of physicians' and researchers' financial relationships with industry.
