M3 and M4 Students

The students will spend between two weeks and three months of elective time for academic credit working on their Area of Scholarly Concentration (AOSC) research projects over the third and fourth years.

Students will continue to acquire skills in experimental design and data analysis and are strongly encouraged to submit abstracts for scientific meetings and manuscripts to peer-review journals. Funding is available to support students who are presenting data at national meetings. The submission of either an AOSC thesis or peer-reviewed manuscript is required, and the submitted thesis must approved prior to graduation from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

Expectations & Important Dates

  • Spend between two weeks and three months of elective time working on the AOSC project over third and fourth years.
  • Submit a thesis outline on Monday, July 22, 2019.
  • Manuscript submission approval deadline is Jan. 3, 2020.
  • Submit your thesis on Friday, Jan. 17, 2020.
