Feinberg students should be aware of University Procedures available here: https://www.northwestern.edu/sfs/payments/withdrawing-from-the-university/index.html
As stated in the Northwestern University policy, if you withdraw after registering for classes, you must immediately file a Withdrawal form, bearing the appropriate signatures, at the Registrar’s Office at Feinberg. If you leave Feinberg without official notification of your intent to withdraw, the midpoint of the term will be recorded as the official withdrawal date.
Your account: You may receive refunds, in the form of adjustments to your account, for refundable fees and some of your tuition. However, tuition deposits are non-refundable.
Financial Aid: If you are a financial aid recipient, please also review the website on Financial Aid & Withdrawals and speak directly with the Director of Financial Aid at Feinberg.
The percentage of tuition refunded (minus the deposit) depends on how long you were enrolled in the term.
Deposits for confirmation of enrollment are nonrefundable.
- During the first four weeks of the year: 100% of tuition will be refunded
- After week four and during the first half of the year: 50% of tuition will be refunded
- After the first half of the year: 0% of tuition will be refunded
Please note that Feinberg, in accordance with Northwestern University policies, does not refund tuition or fees based on mode of instruction (for example in-person or remote) because the credits earned remain the same.
Health Insurance Refunds
Payments for health insurance are refunded when a student withdraws or is dismissed from the university unless the student requests to maintain the charge in order to stay on the plan as a covered individual. For student disability insurance, the student will be refunded the remaining unused premium amount if they are dismissed or withdraw from school.
