F5 Best Practices
With the implementation of BigFix and Big-IP (F5), some changes to the way you use your laptops are suggested.
Since Big-IP is a connection that must always be on when sending and receiving email from Outlook, it is recommended that before switching networks or putting your laptop to sleep you should close Outlook and terminate the Big-IP connection.
What does “switching from networks” mean? It could be switching from a wired network connection to a wireless connection or it might be switching from one wireless network to another.
How to disconnect from the Big-IP:
On a Windows laptop:1. Find the Big-IP Edge Client in the icon bar at the bottom right. The Big-IP Edge Client is a red circle with F5 on it. Double click on it.
2. Click on DISCONNECT.
On a Mac Laptop:
1. Find the red circle with F5 on it in the icon bar at the top right of the screen.
