I am an assistant professor in the Department of Pathology, specializing in gastrointestinal disorders, liver diseases and pancreatic cancers. I am an assistant professor in the Department of Pathology, specializing in gastrointestinal disorders, liver diseases and pancreatic cancers. I am interested in novel gastrointestinal and liver injury patterns, including inflammatory bowel disease, infectious colitis and hepatitis and emerging medication associated injuries.

I received my anatomical and clinical pathology residency training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and I completed my gastrointestinal, pancreas and liver pathology fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Currently, I serve on various committees, including program evaluation, pathology interest group and women faculty organization. I am also a member of house of delegate at the college of American pathologists (CAP) and United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP) Ambassador.[Shorten text]

Academic Focus

My primary research interests are in the field of Gastrointestinal, Pancreas and Liver Pathology, with particular interest in Inflammatory bowel disease and mimics, emerging medication associated gastrointestinal and liver injury, microbiota and infectious agents.
