We are now working on the identification of some novel targets for protection against tissue injury. MFG-E8, a macrophage-derived protein, is necessary for maintenance of the intestinal epithelial homeostasis and mediates the protection against intestinal mucosa injury. LZMPC, lysozyme-modified probiotic components, benefits the protection against CLP induced sepsis. The luminal propria peptidoglycan transcytosis through intestinal barrier mechanism is also addressed in our research.[Shorten text]
