Lyceum Speaker Series

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion’s Lyceum Speaker Series hosts distinguished scholars to present on current topics related to diversity and inclusion. These events are open to everyone, with the goal of encouraging inclusivity, learning, and understanding throughout the Feinberg community. Previous speakers have included Dr. Antonia Novello, the first Hispanic and first woman Surgeon General, and Dr. Neil Powe, Chief of Medicine at San Francisco General Hospital and a leading investigator in healthcare disparities. Our Spring 2019 speaker was Dr. Oluwaferanmi Okanlami, who spoke about “Disabusing Disability,” emphasizing that disability does not mean inability (Read More). Most recently, Dr. Monica McLemore spoke about the clinician role in the resolution of health inequities, using black maternal health as an exemplar.
