NU DOCS is a pipeline program offered by the Feinberg Office of Diversity and Inclusion in partnership with Northwestern Health Professions Advising and Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences. It is designed to provide an immersive week-long introduction to careers in medicine for Northwestern University undergraduate students. NU DOCS strengthens the pipeline of diverse candidates to medical school, and complements Feinberg’s commitment to supporting and preparing students from historically marginalized communities to become excellent, patient-centered leaders and future physicians.

During this program, Northwestern undergraduate students dedicate their spring break to a full week of programming, including admissions advising, resident and medical student panels, specialty talks from faculty, and research workshops. Students also have the opportunity to shadow faculty members in clinic, which provides a first-hand view into the daily life of a physician.Through the guidance and mentorship provided in this program, we aim to identify promising candidates early and to provide the support they need to successfully enroll in medical school.
