When Joseph DiDomenico was looking at medical schools, one thing that certainly made Feinberg stand out to him was the faculty. As a third-year student, DiDomenico says the faculty’s unique openness with students has grown to be one of his favorite things about Feinberg.
“Unlike other schools where the curriculum is more rigid, Northwestern places an emphasis on a curriculum that is fluid and provides an environment where everyone is able to voice their opinions and the faculty stay very open-minded.”
Interested in research, DiDomenico says he’s truly enjoyed taking advantage of the research opportunities available at Feinberg.
“There really is an opportunity to be involved in some amazing research with some unbelievable minds. The groundbreaking stuff that’s being done here is a pretty cool thing that will become obvious for students very early on.”
During his three years at Feinberg, DiDomenico says the school feels like a family and he finds inspiration daily from his fellow classmates and faculty.
“People really enjoy working with the Northwestern Feinberg medical students. They get students involved, see them grow and get inspired. There’s a lot of collaboration here, not just with classmates, but with people that are well above you, treating you like colleagues and that’s a special thing.”
