LCME Accreditation

Preparing for 2021

The LCME accredits medical education programs leading to the MD degree in the United States and Canada.

LCME accreditation is a voluntary, peer-reviewed process of quality assurance that determines whether the medical education program meets established standards.

Feinberg School of Medicine currently holds full accreditation from the LCME. The last full survey visit was in 2013 and the next visit is scheduled for April 18–21, 2021.

The accreditation process includes an independent student analysis and an institutional self-study, and culminates with the three-day survey visit by an LCME team April 18–21, 2021. Please see the Timeline for details.
