The Office of Student Programs and Professional Development offers text pagers to M3 and M4 students to maintain contact with the hospital, medical school, and their fellow students. Pagers are distributed to M3 students on Introduction to Clinical Clerkships day at the beginning of their third year. Students are required to turn in their pager before graduation or leaving the Feinberg School of Medicine. Students that are having problems with their pager or need a replacement pager because theirs was lost or stolen can stop by the August Webster Office of Medical Education located in Ward 1-003 and see Lisa Wittig at the front desk.
**Lost or broken pagers can be replaced for a fee: Alpha Text Pagers $60. Payment is accepted in form of cash or check made out to Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
Students who have the Alpha Text Pagers can receive text pages on their pager. To send a text page to someone who has this type of pager you will need to access the USA Mobility website at: http://www.usamobility.com/send_a_message/index.html. Student pagers can not receive text messages from the hospital paging system. You have to go through the website only to send a text page.
