| Description: The Center For Discovery serves multiply disabled and medically fragile children and adults, many of whom have rare syndromes and disorders, as well as a growing number of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders. This unique experience affords medical students an excellent learning/research opportunity, including clinical observation of primary medicine; subspecialty clinics that may include neurology, orthopedics, pulmonology and psychiatry. Physical Medicine - physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy; hands on opportunities in both education and residential settings to include experience with assistive technology, positioning and handling, augmentative communication techniques and diverse teaching methodologies.
