Description: Provides funds to about 40 medical students to spend nine to twelve months conducting basic, translational or applied biomedical research in one of the many laboratories on the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland. 

Eligibility: Students in good standing with the medical school, cannot be enrolled in an MD/PhD, PhD or an ScD program or have a PhD in a lab-based biological science. Must be eligible to work in the U.S. 

Award Amount: $25,000, health insurance and other benefits. 

Duration/Location of Program: 12 consecutive months/National Institute of Health Labs in Bethesda, Maryland
