Education

The Department of Physical Therapy and Human Movement Sciences (PTHMS) seeks to develop the knowledge, skills, and mindfulness of its doctorate in physical therapy (DPT), dual degree DPT-PhD(Eng), and PhD graduates to enable them to become leaders in health care and movement science research regionally, nationally, and globally. We incorporate the most advanced evidence and technologies into our DPT curricula in order to meet the changing needs of our students, patients/clients, and society. Our PhD programs are designed to train students in Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences to be at the forefront in new technologies and methods related to rehabilitation science and engineering with strong relevance to advances in the treatment of movement disorders and patient care.
In addition and to encourage life-long learning, the department offers rich opportunities for continuing education.
