Residents

Following are resident opportunities at Northwestern that include integrative medicine, as well programs in which our center members are involved.

Family Medicine Residency at Lake Forest

This new residency program, out of the Department of Family and Community Medicine and managed by McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University, incorporates integrative medicine in residency as part of the curriculum.

Resident Integrative Medicine Elective

McGaw Residents are also eligible to apply for the integrative medicine elective. Learn more on the program page.

Preventive Medicine Residency with Integrative Medicine Curriculum

The Osher Center for Integrative Medicine partners with the Cook County Health and Hospital System (CCHHS) Preventive Medicine (PM) program to expand the current residency-training curriculum to include integrative healthcare. This residency program emphasizes population health for medically underserved communities. The addition of integrative medicine training can improve the health and wellness of these communities by expanding access to and understanding of integrative medicine and health. Preventive medicine residents participate in the Faculty Scholars program, Integrative Medicine Elective, complete a scholarly project related to integrative public health, and gain practical skills in mindfulness meditation and mind-body medicine.

Incorporating Wellness

The Osher Center is available to assist residency programs in integrating provider wellness. For more information about how we can assist your program, please contact Nancy Heap.
