Welcome to the Northwestern University Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP). We are delighted that you have taken the time to learn more about the breadth and quality of our research and clinical training programs.
Each year we welcome up to 15 exceptional students to prepare for exciting and challenging careers as MD, PhD physician-scientists. By completing MSTP training, students gain the investigative skills of biomedical scientists (PhD) as well as the clinical skills of physicians (MD). At Northwestern, we are committed to developing physicianship, which encompasses the art of medical practice and service, as well as to acquiring the skills needed for a career of investigation, discovery, and leadership in medical science.
